SHAKA'S BIO
Shaka was born in Brooklyn, New York where he lived for 15 years with two Jamaican parents two brothers and a sister. In '87 everybody except his older brother moved to New Orleans, Louisiana where his career as an artist began. His father being Jamaican and into music seriously, Shaka was heavily influenced by all types of music such as Reggae, Dancehall, Jazz, Classical, Rap, and Funk/R&B. His older brother was also a DJ and a lyricist-all this combined sparked Shaka's aspirations to be an emcee/artist.
Upon moving to Kenner (Greater New Orleans), Louisiana, he began to get serious as a writer and lyricist. After rapping through high school for friends and family he hooked up with a local DJ/producer R-Self and O.U.T.L.A.W. crew and did his first recordings. O.U.T.L.A.W. eventually put a cd out 'Hustlerz For Hire', which featured Shaka and was sold locally. He continued to write and perform locally, and along wit...
